The Autumn Break is Coming!
The perfect time for an adventurous day out at GeoFort. During the autumn holiday we’re open every day from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
his autumn there’s plenty to discover, explore and play! Whatever the weather, GeoFort is the place to be.
Sunny day? Explore the exciting fortress island, take the ferry to a future scenario and enjoy the adventure playground. Rainy day? No problem! Inside the barracks and bunkers you’ll find loads of interactive games and activities to keep everyone entertained.
This autumn we’re offering extra Minecraft activities and workshops, as well as fun new creative workshops where you can make an autumn mobile, learn all about the Earth from the inside out, and taste a chocolate lollipop with a surprising ingredient…

Workshop: “The Earth Inside Out”
October 13, 17, 20 & 24 at 12:00, 13:15 and 14:30.
Prefer to keep your feet on the ground? Join this workshop all about our planet — perfect for curious kids!
How do earthquakes and mountains form? Did you know all continents were once joined together as one giant supercontinent called Pangaea? You might even wonder whether we’re alone in the universe… During this workshop, all your questions (and more!) will be answered.

Become a Real Insect Catcher!
October 12, 19 & 26 at 11:30, 13:00 and 14:30.
Are you ready for an exciting outdoor adventure? Together with our guide, children will explore a damp, green spot on the fortress island. Using homemade insect vacuums and nets, they’ll search for insects, spiders and other tiny creatures hiding in bushes and grass.
We’ll learn how to catch, observe and safely release the animals. Everything we find will be collected temporarily in a special container so we can get a good look at the hidden life all around us.
And the best part? You can take your insect vacuum home!

Make Your Own Autumn Mobile!
October 14 & 21, drop in between 13:00 and 15:00.
It’s the season of chestnuts, acorns, leaves and bright red berries — the perfect materials for your own autumn creation. During this creative workshop you’ll be inspired by the season and craft your own unique autumn mobile using sticks, felt and natural treasures. A beautiful decoration to take home!
Participation is included with museum admission. Recommended age: 6+ years.
Do You Dare? Insect Lollipop Workshop
October 15 & 22, drop in between 13:00 and 15:00.
In this workshop, children will make their own chocolate lollipops… with a surprising ingredient: edible insects! It’s a fun way to explore sustainable alternative protein sources. But how does it taste? That’s for them to discover!
Tickets available at the entrance. Cost: €1 per lollipop (to help reduce chocolate waste). Recommended age: 6+ years.
Minecraft Activities
Minecraft Treasure Hunt
Daily throughout the holiday, ongoing between 11:00 and 16:00, new round every 15 minutes.
In the GeoExperience at GeoFort you can join the Minecraft Treasure Hunt at any time. Move both online and “offline” around the fortress island, search for key locations on aerial photographs and translate them into the world of Minecraft. Then head out on the real fort to find the hidden codes. Can you crack the code?
Minecraft Villagers Fun Fair
October 17–19 & 22–26 | 11:00–17:00, new round every 15 minutes.
Welcome to our unique Minecraft Fun Fair! Take part in different challenging games and collect ingredients as you play. Complete all the games and fill your stamp card, and you’ll have everything you need to make your own Minecraft cupcake!

During the autumn break, you can choose from three awesome workshops every day:
- Climate Workshop | Daily at 12:00 & 13:30, except October 15, 16 & 18.
Unravel the secret contents of the Minecraft Climate Chest together with other players. - Programming | Daily at 15:00, except October 15, 16 & 18.
Control a moving Minecraft robot using programming codes and solve an exciting mission. - Virtual Reality | Daily at 12:00, 13:00 & 14:00.
Put on a VR headset and take a 3D virtual journey through the Netherlands — in Minecraft!
Minecraft workshops are not included in museum admission. A separate ticket is required (€7.50 per child).
