This year, GeoFort is even more focused on the popular computer game Minecraft. GeoFort’s own Minecraft platform – GeoCraftNL – is celebrating its tenth anniversary, and this is being celebrated throughout the year with all kinds of fun activities related to this popular game. The summer holidays are packed with Minecraft!

NEW | Minecraft Fox Maze
Permanent exhibit
In this exciting maze, you follow the scent trail of a curious Minecraft fox that is searching for its parents. Along the way, you wander through different Minecraft biomes and discover which resources are hidden in each area. From rare metals to everyday minerals, every turn in the maze brings a surprising new insight.
Recommended age: 8+ years
Minecraft Treasure Hunt
Permanent activity | continuously from 12:00 to 4:00 PM, a new round starts every 15 minutes
In the GeoExperience at GeoFort itself, you can continuously participate in the Minecraft Treasure Hunt. Here you move both online and ‘offline’ across our fort island. Search for important locations on aerial photos and translate them into the world of Minecraft. Then go explore on the real fort to find the hidden codes. Can you crack the code?
Participation is included with museum admission. Recommended age: 8+ years
Minecraft Villagers Fun Fair
July: 5, 10, 12 to 18, 20 to 28, and 31
August: 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13 to 18, 20 to 29
Continuously from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. From 4:00 to 5:00 PM there is an opportunity to build freely with the magnet blocks.
Welcome to our unique Minecraft Fun Fair! Join in various challenging games and collect ingredients while playing. Have you completed all the games and filled your stamp card? Then you have everything you need to make your own Minecraft cupcake!
Participation is included with museum admission. Recommended age: 6+ years
Beat the clock with the Minecraft Professor – Save the world, block by block
July: 21 and 28
August: 4, 11, 18, and 25
This treasure hunt is a race against time for true Minecraft experts! You need to know how to survive in the desert, how to use resources wisely, and how to explore biomes. Together with your team, the children move through five different Minecraft biomes, this time not in a game… but in real life! Luckily, you will be helped by our Minecraft Professor.
Register at the entrance. Participation is included with museum admission. Recommended age: 8+ years
Minecraft workshops
Want more Minecraft? Then join our special (paid) Minecraft workshops. Discover the world of Minecraft in a different way and quickly reserve your spot. During the summer holidays, you can choose from three super cool workshops every day:
Climate: together with other Minecrafters, unravel the secret contents of the Minecraft Climate Chest (8+ years)
Programming: control a movable Minecraft robot using programming codes and solve an exciting challenge (8+ years)
Virtual Reality: put on a VR headset and take a 3D virtual journey across the Netherlands in Minecraft (10+ years)
The Minecraft workshops are not included with museum admission. A separate ticket must be purchased for these (€7.50 per child).
